One short link. One password. Your content stays private.
Add password protection to a URL, document or photo before sharing it. The recipient opens the short link, enters the password and only then reaches the destination.
- Account required to create a protected link
- No account required for recipients
- Available for links, files and photos
Enter the password to continue
Protect a link before it leaves your hands.
URLZ Password adds a controlled step between your short link and its destination.
Choose what to share
Sign in and enter a web address, upload a file or select a photo.
Enable Password
Open Options, activate Password protection and enter your chosen secret.
Share separately
Send the short link and communicate the password through a separate trusted channel.
Recipient unlocks
URLZ checks the password before opening the protected destination.
Protect the content you already share.
Password protection is available wherever you create a URLZ link from the website or supported application flows.
Private web links
Hide a private page, preview, workspace or temporary resource behind one short URL.
Files and documents
Require the password before a recipient reaches an uploaded document or shared file.
Photos and images
Share a photo or private visual with a simple access step before it opens.
The link can travel. The password stays separate.
The short URL does not contain the password. URLZ displays an access screen and opens the destination only after the submitted password matches the protection set by the creator.
The destination is not opened until the password check succeeds.
The password is not added to the short-link address or query string.
An incorrect value returns to the locked screen instead of the destination.
Password protection can guard the entry to URLZ Chat or URLZ Request when enabled on the underlying link.
Use a unique password of at least 12 characters and share it through a different channel from the link. URLZ accepts four characters as a technical minimum, but a longer passphrase is strongly recommended.
A small access step for content that is not for everyone.
Use URLZ Password whenever a public short URL would be convenient but the destination should stay limited to intended recipients.
Send a private preview
Share proposals, drafts or review pages before they are ready for public access.
Protect a sensitive document
Add an access step before opening reports, records or working files.
Share selected images
Deliver private photos, visual proofs or galleries to a known audience.
Limit temporary resources
Protect schedules, internal pages or event material shared with a defined group.
Questions about URLZ Password
What creators and recipients should know before using password protection.
Do I need an account to create a protected link?+
Yes. Sign in or create a URLZ account before adding password protection. The recipient does not need an account.
Which content can be password-protected?+
You can protect a shortened web address, an uploaded file or a photo created through the supported URLZ flows.
Is the password included in the short URL?+
No. The link and password are separate. For better security, send them through different trusted channels.
What password should I choose?+
URLZ requires at least four characters, but use a unique passphrase of 12 characters or more whenever possible.
Can password protection and paid access be active together?+
They are separate access modes. Converting a protected link to paid access replaces its password protection after you confirm the change.
Create a short link that opens only with your password.
Create your URLZ account, choose Password in Options and share the link with the people you trust.
